Back of a baby with a teddy bear

This is the 3rd blog on baby issues (and the fourth and fifth point)

4. Development Hip Dysplasia is a condition where the socket of the pelvis, into which the head of the femur fits, is too shallow to support it; leaving the child with problems like poor range of motion and sometimes pain. DDH ranges in severity. This is something your nurse checks so it is caught before it becomes a problem down the line. Baby ends up in a brace for a few months to help their hips develop correctly. However, this brace may not be needed with the work of Bowen and Emmett Technique.
I had a mother come to me for lower back pain after the birth of her baby. While she was with me she told me of her baby and Development Hip Dysplasia. I said I thought I could help. She brought her baby for three treatments resulting in full range of motion and no brace for baby. This also, happened for another child who had hip pain, after three treatments the pain was gone and range of motion was excellent, again resulting in no need for a brace.

Syndrome
5. The SCM is a muscle that runs along each side of the neck from sternum to the back of the ear. If one side becomes contracted babies head may tilt to one side and it may favour one side to feed on only.
This tightening may be caused by how the baby was lying in mother’s womb or may happen as a result of the birth.
Thankfully it is easily corrected with Emmett Technique and baby will feed easily on both sides after treatment.

Please call for a chat if you have any concerns, with no obligation to purchase a treatment.
